Tent Units

A Kettle Korn tent unit is generally preferable to a trailer in only two instances:

1. If you are trying to save money while you get started.

2. If all you do is special events.

One of the big problems getting into the Kettle korn business is the high capital outlay required. Even the most basic tent unit and the cheapest cooker will ususally cost more than $10,000.00. With trailer units running around $40,000.00 and up it can be pretty daunting to get started. If the health code allows it for your application, a tent may make a lot of financial sense when you are first getting started. If you only plan to use the tent for a short time it may be best to just get an "EZ-UP" style tent and use it until you have enough money for something better. In this case, if you bought one of our KKC4 model cookers for your tent, you could later buy a trailer unit without the cooker for $8,000 less than the complete trailer unit price.

The tent units that we use are basically built industrial strength for many years of use. They are more suitable for long term special event use rather than a temporary stop-gap. The frames are of 1.25" conduit and 2" tubing, the canvas is heavy dacron that will resist the sun for 5 years, and the screen walls are polypropylene to withstand many washings and foldings. We supply fold up counters, canvas floor, signs, and everything else you will need for special event use. We use these tents daily here in Tucson and during the summer thunderstorm season they routinely have to withstand winds of over 50 MPH. They are designed so that absolutely all of the hardware of the complete vending unit will fit in the back of a full size pickup with a 6'x 8' bed or a small tote trailer. With only one person the set up takes about 2 hours and the tear down about one and a half hours.

Price for a tent unit is $16,000 to purchase or $750 per month to lease. So think it over, check the rules, and then give us a call so that we can help you with your equipment selection.
